Kershaw Select Fire

Kershaw Select Fire (1)Kershaw's Select Fire, designed by Gavin Hawk is, in my opinion anyway, one of the best "Tool knife" type designs out there.

2017 Multitool Of The Year Poll

2017 MOTYIt's that time of year again!  2018 is here and while we are all excited about what new tools and gear are going to be announced at the 2018 SHOT Show, we also need to take a moment and look back on the gear issued in 2017!

As with last year's poll, each member has the opportunity to vote for up to three tools on the list, because let's face it, we all have a hard time just picking one!

Kershaw Twocan

I've been eyeballing these in the catalogs since they first came out a year or two ago. I use scissors almost as much as I use a knife blade, and the Twocan has both. But it was not really clear to me how well the scissor mechanism would work, and I wasn't inclined to spend the money on an experiment. The price on them has been dropping steadily however, to the point where even a cheapskate like me can afford to buy one. At under $20 I figured there wasn't much to lose. The one I bought two weeks ago showed up yesterday.

Kershaw Select Fire Review

Kershaw Select Fire

When one thinks of multifunction tools one tends to think of folding plier devices and when one thinks of multifunction knives one tends to conjure up the typical Swiss Army type knife. The Select Fire from Kershaw actually manages to take features from both without losing it’s tactical knife-y-ness as well. On the surface it’s a one handed opening, partially serrated liner lock with a partially serrated blade, injection molded handle scales and a pocket clip. Not only that, the pocket clip can quickly and easily be swapped to the opposite scale for left handed users and the large, ambidextrous thumbstud won’t be leaving Southpaws out in the cold either.

Kershaw A100 Review

With so many multi tools out there having pliers (usually needle-nose or blunt) as the center of their tool, Kershaw set out to make a one of a kind tool that sets itself apart from the rest of the multi tool crowd. What Kershaw came up with was the Kershaw Multi tool, an innovative pair of vise-grips packed with all kinds of goods that are wrapped up in a nice little package.
